National Undergraduate Bioethics Conference (NUBC) APRIL 4-5, 2008

 

 

What is NUBC?

The National Undergraduate Bioethics Conference (NUBC) is an annual event carried under the auspices of the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities (ASBH). It is planned and organized by students and faculty to bring together undergraduate students and leading experts to discuss issues of current interest within the field of bioethics. NUBC provides a unique national venue for undergraduates to share their research, their concerns, and their considered views with each other.

 

This year’s Conference Theme:

                         The Human Use of Human Beings in Medicine and Science

                         Susan E. Lederer, PhD

                               "The Myth and Metaphor of Frankenstein"

 

Tod Chambers, PhD,

      "Witches, Punks, and Bioethicists"

      “Medical Apartheid”

Previous Hosts of NUBC:

The conference originated at Princeton University (1998) and has since

been held at the University of Virginia (1999), Notre Dame (2000),

Emory University (2001), Boston University (2002), Texas A&M (2003),

University of Michigan (2004), University of Pennsylvania (2005),

Notre Dame (2006), and Michigan State University (2007)

The eleventh Annual NUBC will convene at the Union College Campus, Schenectady NY

For Reservations, call the Holiday Inn Schenectady, NY (518) 393-4141. Identify yourself as with the NUBC  (National Undergrad Bioethics Conference) to receive the meeting guest room rate of $ 93 for a single/double room plus tax per night. Note: The deadline for hotel reservations at the meeting guest room rate is March 4, 2008.

Transportation Information
Albany International Airport is approx 10 miles from campus and the Holiday Inn has a free shuttle service
