Professor Philpott elected to APHA Ethics Board:
At this year's annual
meeting of the American Public Health Association, Dr. Sean Philpott was
elected to the Executive Committee of the Ethics Special Primary Interest Group.
The Ethics Primary Special Interest Group is composed of public health
students, practitioners, educators and researchers who are committed to
promoting ethical issues and debate across various public health disciplines.
In his new role, Dr. Philpott
will serve as the Program Chair Elect for 2009-10, before taking on the role of
Program Chair for 2010-11 (where he will help to shape the agenda for ethics
sessions at the 2011 annual meeting). He will become the Chair and Membership
Chair of the Ethics Group in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
Faculty, students, alumni
and friends interested in issues of public health ethics are invited to join
the APHA and the Ethics Special Primary Interest Group. Members of the Ethics
